May 22, 1927 –  November 8, 2017  Lifetime Cooke County resident, Lavania Mozell Beam, 90, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Medical City in Lewisville. She was born in Marysville, Texas on May 22, 1927, to Allen Marion and Cordie (Cunningham) Branch. Mozell married Jessie Beam November 6, 1944 in Gainesville, Texas. She had worked as a cook in the public schools and was a rancher who was a country girl at heart. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.
Graveside Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 11th at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville with Rev. Darren York officiating.

Survivors include her sisters, Gertrude Reeves of Denison and Glee Sims of Springtown and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, Keith Beam.
