August 1, 1922 –  July 30, 2011  Funeral services for Gene Kennedy, 88, of Lindsay will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 4th at Clement-Keel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Stone officiating. Visitation will be 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery Marietta, Oklahoma. Mr. Kennedy died July 30, 2011 at his residence.
Gene was born August 1, 1922 in Bonita, Texas to Benjamin and Mary (Hurley) Kennedy. He served in the US Army/Air Corp. Gene married Gladys Goldsmith March 1, 1946 in San Jose, California. He was an iron worker in construction before retiring. He loved to work in his yard and garden.

Survivors of Gene Kennedy include his wife of sixty-five years, Gladys Kennedy of Lindsay; sons, Ron Kennedy of Duncan, OK and Robert Wayne Kennedy of Lindsay; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Tracey Kennedy of Anna; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Jesse Monroe of Duncan, OK; daughter, Patricia Burks of Muldrew, OK; brother, James Kennedy of Sonora, CA; sisters, Mary Cooper of Duncan, OK and Maurine Laundrie of San Jose, CA; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Mary Kennedy; brothers, Louis, Bill, Gerald and Cecil Kennedy and sister, Allene Haggerty.
