Karen Yvonne Goodson, 68, of Whitesboro, Texas was called to her eternal home on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.

Karen was born in Dallas, Texas on July 4, 1954 to Morton Henry and Mary Grace (Wilson) Arledge.  She worked in real estate for over 20 years in addition to selling Tupperware, Herbalife, Mary Kay and Amway.  She was a very hard worker and often would do without in order to help others in her life.  She was an amazing caregiver to her family and friends.  Karen was the youngest in the state to win the Gold Award with Girl Scouts, which is the equivalent of the Eagle Scott Award given to Boy Scouts.  She served as one of the youngest Scout leaders in the state of Texas.  Karen was a very social person and loved to help with committees and charities, she served as the chairperson for the WT White 50th Class reunion and with Toastmasters.  She loved to travel and would often comment “have suitcase will travel!” She enjoyed time at the lake, grilling with the family, watching Tom Selleck on TV, and doing arts and crafts. Karen was a bright light to her family and friends; she will be missed.

She is survived by her son, Sam Goodson and wife, Amanda, daughter, Stefanie Goodson and significant other, Jessie Lehman; sister, Sharon Golden; sister, Nan Farmer and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Ashley Ross and husband, Matt, and Lane Goodson; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Lainee, Oaklee, and Waylen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Morton and Mary Grace Arledge, brother, James Arledge, brother-in-law, Larry Dale Golden and niece, Kendall Golden.

Funeral services honoring Karen will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Rick Carney.  A time of visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
