July 11, 1953 –  October 28, 2013  Karen Dorman Shewbirt passed away peacefully at her home in Gainesville on October 28, 2013. Karen was 60 and was surrounded by family at the time of her passing. Karen and Sharon were born in Farmersville on July 11, 1953. Karen was the daughter of Douglas and Mary Dorman of Greenville. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Shewbirt of Bodcaw, Arkansas. She is survived by her parents; her son Joe and his wife, Paula and her son, Brian of Bodcaw; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her twin sister, Sharon Laird of Gainesville; her brother, Michael Dorman of The Colony, her sister, Virginia Jones and husband, Glen of Alba and her dear friend and care giver, Chuck West of Gainesville.
Karen was the best daughter, sister, mother and friend anyone could ever have. Her sweet and gentle nature will be missed by all. Karen, we will all see you in heaven. Rest in peace. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Meador-Clement-Keel Chapel.
