January 13, 1940 –  February 2, 2016  Funeral Services for Judith “Judy” Louise Oliver, 76, of Whitesboro will be held Friday, February 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Whitesboro with Rev. Jerry Scott officiating assisted by Rev. Mike Flannagan. Interment will follow at Sadler Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 4th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel. She was born to David Benedict Parshall and Madelyn Louise (Baird) Parshall on January 13, 1940, in Wheeling, West Virginia. Judy moved to Houston and worked for Continental Airlines. She married John Moore Oliver on November 6, 1959, in Houston, Texas. When her children went to school, she completed a degree in nursing. As a registered nurse, Judy worked at several hospitals in the Texas valley before moving to Uvalde, Texas. She continued working as a registered nurse in Uvalde and left her nursing career to assist her husband’s business. She loved to teach Sunday School and study her bible. Judy loved people, but most of all, loved Jesus. It thrilled her heart to care for the elderly and especially, those who had no one to take care of them. She made quilts and gave to nursing home residents. Judy was also very patriotic and loved to support our troops. Judy was a member of the Red Hat Society of Sherman, the Quilters Guild of Sherman, Texas, and the Uvalde Bumble Bees (square dancing club). Judy was a member of First Baptist Church of Whitesboro and was very active in WMU. Judy enjoyed their country home, grandchildren and traveling in a 5th wheel with her husband. She traveled through the United States visiting many different states from the east coast to the west coast. Her most favorite state to visit was Alaska to spend time with family. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and insisted on stopping at every garage sale. Most of all, participating in service to others brought great joy to Judy’s heart. She and John moved to the Whitesboro community in 1998, from Ruidoso, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be John Simon, Stephen Simon, Colton Nehib, Paul Nehib and Alan Kirkpatrick. She is survived by her husband, John Oliver of Whitesboro; children, Paul Fleming and wife, Harriet of Sheridan, Wyoming, Margaret Kirkpatrick and husband, Alan of Kyle, Texas, Daniel Oliver and wife, Dana of Wasilla, Alaska; and Robin Nehib and husband, Paul of Whitesboro and a sister, Patricia Anderson of Tucson, Arizona; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren who Judy considered blessings. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Madelyn Parshall.
