July 6, 1925 –  March 5, 2015  Gainesville resident, Joy Elizabeth Faulkner, 89, passed away Thursday morning, March 5, 2015 at North Texas Medical Center. Joy was born in Dekalb County, Alabama July 6, 1925, to Richard and Nancy Elizabeth (Hart) Bailey. She married Jack F. Faulkner June 13, 1951 in Bellevue, Texas. Mrs. Faulkner was a nurse’s aide at Gainesville Memorial Hospital for over twenty years. She was a long-time member of Eastern Star.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 9th at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Denton Sills, Danny Ritchey, Justin Ritchey, Jimmy Brooks, Leonard Levernock and Brittani Ritchey will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2:00 – 4:00 at the funeral home.

Survivors include daughter, Beth Faulkner Holbert of Gainesville; granddaughter, Jonie Ritchey of Gainesville; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and niece, Polly Brooks, raised as a daughter. Joy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, three sisters, one grandson and three great-grandchildren.
