September 7, 1928 –  November 25, 2009  WHITESBORO â?? Graveside Services for John Newton Marshall, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, 2009 at McCurley Cemetery in Lewisville with Rev. Tim Whiting officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
John passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009 at his home in Whitesboro.

He was born on Sept. 7, 1928 in Savanna, Oklahoma to John and Leola (Garvin) Marshall. John was a U.S. Army Veteran and worked in construction. He loved to dance. His glass was always half full. He was of the Baptist faith and was a legendary coon hunter.

Survivors include his children, Glenn Marshall and wife, Cathy of McAlester, Oklahoma, Michael Marshall and wife, Debbie of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Johna McBee and husband, Kirk of Whitesboro, Charlotte Suter and husband, Ralph of Kribbs, Oklahoma, Carol Ann Sowell and husband, Jeff of Oak Point, and Pamela Landers and husband, Gene, Sr. of Whitesboro; 14 grandchildren, Clinton Marshall, Jennifer Polluck, Brandi Thornton, Carrie Marshall, Stacia McBee, Melissa Francis, Sandy Ellis, Wendy Montgomery, Gene Ray Landers, Jr., Beau Landers, Trey Landers, Kade Landers, Ben Donakey and Andy Donakey; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 9 brothers and sisters; his wife, Katherine Marshall; a son, Alvin â??Buddyâ? Marshall; and a grandson, Gabriel â??Shawnâ? Marshall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Whitesboro Senior Citizens Club.
