January 19, 1937 –  January 31, 2013  Funeral services for John “Jerry” Saxton, 86, of Custer City will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 4th at Meador-Clement-Keel Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Father Stubbs of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will be officiating. Interment will follow in Union Hill Cemetery. Mr. Saxton died January 31, 2013 at Baylor Heart Hospital in Plano.

Jerry was born January 19,1927 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mr. Saxton was a retired Master Chief with the US Navy. He had served during WWII, the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Following his military retirement Jerry worked for Worthington Dresser-Rand Industries until retiring. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved farming and was an avid Ranger baseball fan.

Survivors of John Saxton include his wife, Rochelle Saxton of Custer City; daughter, Robin Saxton of Austin; sons, Roy Dale Saxton of Springtown, Dewey Carpenter of Alexandria, VA, Scott Dungan of Custer City and Casey Dungan of Woodbine; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret King; step-father, Fred Wicks; wife, Audrey Bea Saxton; sons, Chet Saxton and Lance Saxton and a daughter, Ruth Saxton.
