Gainesville resident Jimmy Lee Smith, 73, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016, at his residence. He was born July 22, 1943, in Gainesville to Paul and Opal Lee (Gustin) Smith. Jimmy married Rose Elaine Wariner on November 4, 1961, in Gainesville. Jimmy was very devoted to any family activities and their sports. His lifelong passion was loving motorcycles and a big part of their lives revolved around motorcycles. He was an avid motorcyclist. He also was a golfer. Mr. Smith has been a Mason since 1976. He was a machinist for Valenite for 30 years.

Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Rev. Lonnie Dotson officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 30, at Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville.

Survivors include his 2 sons, Jimmy Paul Smith & wife Tammy of Gainesville, and Timothy Craig Smith & wife Dusty of Spanish Fort; daughter, Deanna Lynn Skiles & husband Benny of Gainesville; grandchildren, Joshua, Jacquelyn, Dale, Destrey, Brett and Zakry; 4 great grandchildren, Kerstin, Logan, Holden and Stella Rose..

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Opal Lee Smith, wife Rose Elaine Smith, 2 brothers, Paul Smith & Gene Hale, 2 sisters, Billy Evans & Jerre Hairell and granddaughter Heather Rose.
