June 25, 1942 –  May 21, 2015  Memorial services for Jewell “Ace” Murrell, 72, of Whitesboro, Texas will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 6:00 p.m in the Meador Funeral Home Chapel of Whitesboro, Texas with David Woolsey officiating, assisted by Mike Bentley of North Union Street Church of Christ. He died May 21, 2015 at his home in Whitesboro. Ace was born June 25, 1942, in Whitesboro, Texas to Floyd and Lillie Murrell. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He loved life, especially fishing and his dogs. He was one of 9 children. He never met a stranger and was loved by his family and a host of friends.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Murrell of Whitesboro; son, Justin Murrell and wife, Crystal of Austin, Texas; Curtis Howard and wife, Tina of Whitesboro and Shane Hale of Whitesboro; daughter, Sonji Miller Stevens and husband, Robert of Whitesboro; brother, James Floyd Murrell, Jr. and wife, Delores of Moncks Corner, SC; sisters, Emma Conner of Sherman, Texas, Della Skerkis and husband, John of Sherman, Texas, Drew Anderson Fults and husband, David of Sadler, Texas, Dorothy Vigus Lovelady of Kennedale, Texas; sister-in-law, Brenda Murrell of Whitesboro, Texas and 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, James Floyd, Sr. and Lillie Jobe Murrell and his twin brother, Newell (Duce) Murrell; brother, Earl Vigus; sister, Martha Vigus Darrah, and brother-in-law, H.C. Anderson.
