February 8, 1918 –  April 17, 2016  Funeral Services for Gainesville resident Jewel Boaz, 98, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville. Great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Jewel passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at her residence. She was born February 8, 1918 in Love, County, Oklahoma to Henry Lee and Irene Joyce (DeMarcus) Roberson. She had worked at the State School as a house parent and was a homemaker. Jewel was the last surviving Gold Star Mother.

Survivors include children, Billie Marie Holley of Gainesville, Dorothy Kidd of Van Alstyne, Stanley Glenn and wife, Johnnie of Ardmore, Gary Glenn and wife, Nancy Brannon of Gainesville, Bobby Boaz and wife, Deborah of Woodbine, Mike Boaz and wife, Betty of Gainesville and son Ricky Boaz of Gainesville; sister, Joyce White of Denton and many grand, great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Glenn and Lloyd Raymond Boaz; parents; five siblings and three children, Donald Joe Boaz, Lloyd Dale Boaz and Charles Boaz.
