December 24, 1937 –  July 18, 2014  JERRY ALLEN YOUNGWHITESBORO – Memorial services for Jerry Allen Young, 76, will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. in the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Visitation services will be held prior to the memorial services from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
He passed away in Denison, Texas on July 18, 2014.
Jerry was born on December 24, 1937 in El Paso, Texas. He married Donna Franklin on November 17, 1956 in Pacific Grove, California. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He dearly loved his grandchildren and he was known as “Boom Pa.” He was a very generous man and served his country as a member of the U. S. Army. Later, he was self-employed as the owner/operator of an Exxon gas station in Lake Dallas. He also worked for Winstar Casino in Thackerville, OK.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Young, of Whitesboro; children: Jerry Young and wife, Sandy, of Angelton, Jeffrey Young of Lewisville, Steven Young of Sherman, Timothy Young, and wife, Robin, of Aubrey, Ronald Young of Whitesboro, Matthew Young, and wife, Marie, of Dime Box, and Kimberly Young Rae, of Whitesboro; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Charlotte Fisher of Gunter and Delois Gravely of Lewisville.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lilly Myrtle (Hall) Young; and his daughter, Lily Kristine Young; brother, Buddy Young; and sister, Anita Davis.
