November 5, 1926 –  February 16, 2013  Janelle Pogue, a longtime resident of Gainesville, Texas passed away on February 16, 2013 in Dallas, Texas.

Janelle was born November 5, 1926 in Clarksville, Texas. She moved to Gainesville in 1943 and remained there until she moved to Lancaster, Texas in 2009 due to failing health to be close to family. While in Gainesville, Janelle worked as a cook and housekeeper for Dr. Wallace, Dr. Shea, Earnest Meddores and Eva Clifton. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Paul Pogue; parents, Ben and Ada Samuels; granddaughter, Jacquelyn Bryant and brother, Larry (Bud) Moten.

Janelle is survived by one son, Timothy Pogue and wife, Sydne of Arlington, Texas; four daughters, Marion Bryant and husband, Woodrow of Odessa, Texas, Harriet Jane Russell and husband, Charles of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Judy Daniels and husband, Curtis of Denver, Colorado and Ada Nicholson of Grand Prairie, Texas; eighteen grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, three brothers, four sisters, one brother-in-law, one sister-in-law and a loving host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23rd at Grand Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Lorne, pastor of Corinth Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in New Rest Haven Cemetery. Joseph Pogue, Jeff Mack, Terry Russell, Todd Russell, Aaron Clegg and Timothy J. Pogue, Jr. will serve as pallbearers. A Wake will be held 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Friday at Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
