Jane Cranford, 92, of Sadler, Texas passed peacefully from her earthly home into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, January 13, 2022.

Jane was born on January 11, 1930 in Whitesboro, Texas to George William and Mattie Tackett (Pfaff) Savage.  She graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1947.  Jane was a longtime member of the Sadler Methodist Church.  She married Robert Wilson (Bob) Cranford in Denison, Texas on August 2, 1947 and they were married for 61 years prior to his passing in 2008. Jane worked for Hardwick Etters in 1954 making shell casings for the military until she became a beautician and she worked at that for over 66 years, having a beauty shop attached to her home in Sadler.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Daughters of the America Revolution, a member of NARFAE, a camp director for the Modern Woodman and served on the Board of the Sadler Community Center.  She enjoyed traveling and meeting new people, she had traveled all over Europe, Russia, China, and Australia.  She was an avid book and stamp collector and she liked making and wearing jewelry and putting together photo albums.  Her greatest joy in life was her family, she loved hosting big get togethers at her home on Easter and Christmas and held an annual fish fry for her family and her community.  She had a passion to serve others and was always so giving of her time to others, whether volunteering to raise money for the fire department or baking cakes for the kids at church.  Jane was a true servant of the Lord.

She is survived by her son, Harold Cranford and wife, Darla of Sherman, Texas; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Cranford of Pottsboro; grandchildren, Chance Cranford, Schane Cranford, Amy Boehmisch, Brittany Parr, Sholana Wells, David Johnson, Ronnie Johnson, and Wesley Chumbley, 8 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-great grandchildren, sister, Jo Thomas, brother, James Savage and wife, Elaine, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Mattie Savage, her husband of 61 years, Bob Cranford, daughter, Alice Eades, son, Jerry Cranford, sisters, Freeda Swilling, Ruth Hargesheimer, Reba Recer, Ruby Reedy, Margaret Booker, Nola Burch, Georgia Rice, Jessie Ellis and brother, Carrol Savage.

Pallbearers will be, Chance Cranford, Schane Cranford, Joel Wells, Ronnie Johnson, David Johnson and Landon Boehmisch.

Funeral services honoring Jane will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Doyle Henderson.  Interment will follow at Sadler Cemetery.  A time of visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
