August 27, 1952 –  May 13, 2015  Funeral Services for Lindsay resident, James R. Horner, 62, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 18th at Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Eddie Chennault officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lindsay. Ronnie Horner, Jr., Johnny Beauten, Johnny Hamm, Jason Hermes, Javier Martinez, James Mathews, Clint Britain and Ernie Everett will serve as pallbearers. Honorary bearers will be Wess Nortman and Jo Dane Clark. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville. Mr. Horner passed away Wednesday evening, May 13, 2015 in Tyler, Texas.
James was born August 27, 1952 in Gainesville, Texas to Jack and Dorothy (Lillard) Horner. He married Diane Hamm October 24, 1975 in North Carolina. James served in the US Marines. He was stationed at Quantico, Virginia and was the first Crew Chief for Marine One during the Nixon era. He was employed as an oilfield crane operator for Rowan Drilling.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Horner of Collinsville; wife, Diane Horner of Lindsay; granddaughters, Ava Horner and Jaclyn Horner; brother, Ronald Horner of Burns City; sisters, Rita Odom of Burns City, Debbie Hermes of Gainesville and Jana Horner of Burns City; cousin, Randy Owens of Myra, aunt, Mary Evans and husband, Waymon of Sherman, cousin, Shirley Ann Martindale and husband, Eddie of Gainesville and Diane’s sister, Kathy Wyatt and husband, Gale of Whitesboro. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Horner; son, Christopher Shane Horner; brother, Billy Jack Horner; sister-in-law, Betty Hamm and brother-in-law, Archie Hamm. http://videos.lifetributes.com/596446
