December 12, 1922 –  May 31, 2015  James “Jim” Hayes, 92 passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at East Texas Medical Center in Quitman, Texas. He was born December 12, 1922 in Deport Texas to Homer and Eva (Boyett) Hayes. He served in the Army Air Corp and was an Agent for Reliable Life Insurance for eighteen years. Jim was a member of the Masons and Shriners and was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral Services for Jim Hayes will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 3rd at Meador Funeral Home Chapel, Gainesville with son-in-law, Rev. Richard Cryer officiating. Interment will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Hayes of Winnsboro, daughter Enaune Cryer and husband, Richard of Pilot Point, five grandchildren, Misty, Jimmy, Melissa, Jared and Jessica and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Dorotha Guest and Jennie Watt.
