November 5, 1923 –  June 14, 2009  WHITESBORO รข?? Funeral Services for Jack Hawkins, 85, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the funeral home.
Jack passed away on June 14, 2009 at his home in Scurry, Texas.

He was born on Nov. 5, 1923 in Denison to James Adam Hawkins and Ida Mildred (Davis) Hawkins. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. Jack married Lois Cary on Oct. 3, 1942 in Durant, Oklahoma. Lois preceded him in death on Feb. 25, 2006. He married Lynn Wilhite on Aug. 1, 2006 in Madill, Oklahoma. Jack loved horses, owning several of them. He was an independent insurance agent for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Hawkins of Scurry, a daughter, Patricia Robinson and husband, Claude of Whitesboro, a grandson, Craig Taylor of Whitesboro, a granddaughter, Michelle King and husband Neal of Whitesboro, 3 great -grandchildren, Nathan, JoMarie and Austin; 4 step-grandchildren, Mike Robinson and wife, Melinda, Ben Robinson and wife, Jennifer, Jane Shelton and husband, Norm and Janet Robinson, several step-great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Gerald Wayne Hawkins of Whitesboro and Donald Ray Hawkins of Sherman; 3 sisters, Doris Morris of Gainesville, Virginia Harris of Gainesville and Rose Mae Brooks of Tappahanoch, Virgina.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ida Hawkins, his first wife, Lois Hawkins, and two brothers, James and Homer Hawkins.
