August 14, 1930 –  April 4, 2015  Funeral Services for Gainesville resident Ira Herman Ward will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8th at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Rev. Randy Taylor, Pastor of Crossroads Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ira Herman Ward was the middle child of Ira Benton and Leta Bartlett Ward, born on Thursday, August 14, 1930 on Fishcreek at Marysville, Texas. He died Saturday, April 4, 2015 at his residence in Gainesville. He met and married Mary Frances McPherson in Pasadena, Texas March 6, 1956. Mary passed away September 27, 2000. Mr. Ward was a retiree of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include a daughter, Vickie Lynn Ward of Fort Worth; son, Ira David Ward and wife, Delinda Owens Ward of Gainesville; daughter, Betty Ann Schneider and husband, Kent Schneider of Gainesville; grandchildren, Leslie Ward Schniederjan and husband, Ryan; Chelsea Ward Brown and husband, Tony; Ira Daniel Ward, Jenifer Grove and Scott Schneider; great-grandchildren, Michael, Lexi and Lola Schniederjan and Georgia Grace Brown; brother, William Newt (W.N.) Ward and wife Carol of Anderson, North Carolina and sister, Dorinda Florence VanBurkleo, of McCowan.
