December 18, 1911 – August 2, 2006 Whitesboro รข?? Funeral Services for Iona B. Smart, 94 will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, August 7, 2006 at North Hills Baptist Church in Whitesboro with L.V. Phelps and Hank Lovejoy officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smart passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at Whitesboro Nursing Center.
She was born December 18, 1911 in Memphis, TX to James and Margaret Crenshaw. She married Donald L. Smart on February 2, 1929 in Dexter, was a Foster Grandparent at Denton State School for 25 yrs and was a member of North Hills Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Don Allen Smart and wife Frances of Mesquite and Hubert Wayne Smart and wife Michiko of Whitesboro; a daughter, Jo Ann Smart of Whitesboro; a sister, Zetta Riddle of Gunter; a brother, Buddy Crenshaw of Bartlett; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Margaret Crenshaw; her husband, Donald L. Smart; a son, Dean Smart; two brothers, Jesse and Hubert Crenshaw and a sister, Lottie Crenshaw.
Pallbearers are Jackie Crisp, Dempsey Sims, L.V. Phelps, James Ballard, Merrell Dickson and Alton McConnell.
