October 18, 1935 –  August 16, 2017  Heasuk (He Sook) Hildebrandt, 81, passed from this life peacefully on August 16, 2017 with her husband and caregivers by her side. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro with Chaplain Kyle Felker officiating.She was born October 18, 1935 in Pyongyang City, North Korea to Soon Mok Park and Kyung Wha Lee. In 1948, at the age of 14, she and her family walked from Pyongyang City to Seoul, South Korea to escape the communist regime. They all survived the Korean War.
In 1956 she met the love of her life, Freddy Hildebrandt while he was serving in the Army in Seoul. Heasuk worked at Bank of America as a teller and was fluent in Korean, Japanese and English. Heasuk and Freddy were married on October 8, 1957 in Seoul, Korea. They returned to the United States and resided several years in Enid, OK where they started a family. Eventually, they settled in Yukon, OK with their daughter and son and resided there for over forty years. In October, 2014, Fred and Heasuk relocated to Gainesville, Texas to reside with their son and daughter-in-law. She spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, sister-in-law, grandmother and friend. Besides devotion to her family, her interests included gardening, sewing, traveling and reading.
Heasuk is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Freddy Hildebrandt; two brothers, In Hyuk Park and Shin Park; daughter, Sue Ellen Neal and husband, David and a son, Neal Hildebrandt and his wife, Michelle; two grandchildren, Samantha and John Freddy Neal. She also leaves behind her two brothers-in-law and their wives, Jack and Mary Hildebrandt and David and Linda June Hildebrandt. She loved her family with her whole heart and was loved deeply in return.
Heasuk lived beautifully and courageously for many years with Alzheimer’s dementia. She was adored by her family of caregivers. Fred, Neal, Sue Ellen and Michelle send loving appreciation to them all. Heasuk cherished you. Caregivers, Dena Cravens, Karen Brewer, Veronica Valdiviezo, Laura Carroll and Corinne Holt. Hospice nurses, Anita White, Janette Grewing, Leeza Crowder, Charlotte Lewis and Jonelle Schlitt. We thank Chaplain Kyle Felker for the many hours spent visiting with Fred and Heasuk.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved mother and father-in-law, Irene and Fred Hildebrandt.
