March 18, 1931 –  December 24, 2016  Gainesville resident Hattie Lou Pawless passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab Center at the age of eighty-five. She was born March 18, 1931 to Alvin L. and Jessie (Whitt) Orsburn in Gainesville. Hattie was the Salutatorian of her 1947 Gainesville High School graduating class. She had been employed as a bookkeeper and office manager. Hattie was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, played the organ and piano and served as the church treasurer.
Graveside services are set for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29th at Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Huggins, Hospice Chaplain officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday before service time at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville.

Survivors include her husband, Mugg Pawless of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Toni and Weldon Holland of Gainesville; son, Vince Pawless of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Blaine and Melanie Pawless of Aurora; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Reece Orsburn of Gainesville; sister, Emma Moore of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Ellen Orsburn; sister-in-law, Ramona Orsburn of Gainesville; son-in-law, Larry Gore of Gainesville; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Alvin and Jessie Orsburn; daughter, Rita Gore; brother, Wade Orsburn and sister, Norma Mozingo.
