August 12, 1932 –  July 20, 2012  Gainesville resident Harvey Eli Moore, 79, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 at Gainesville Health and Rehab Center. He was born in Iowa Park, Texas August 12, 1932 to Grover and Carrie (Beck) Moore. Harvey married Frances Faye Howard June 9, 1956. He served in the US Marines and was a decorated soldier for his time spent in Korea. Mr. Moore was a sales engineer for Dowell for thirty years before retiring. He also worked as an electrician for King’s Electric and was in lawn care with Garlon Taylor. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved to work on different things, a real Mr. Fix-It. He also enjoyed working in the yard and tending to his flowers.

Funeral Services for Harvey Eli Moore will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 25th at Cross Point Baptist Church with Pastor James Bridges officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Heffley, L.A. Bridges, Steve McAdoo, Shane McAdoo, Bret Moore and Hunter Baucum. Gary Schutza, Donald Wright and M.E. Campbell will be honorary bearers. The family will be at Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for visitation.

Survivors include daughter, Mary Houston of Whitesboro; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jack Leverett of Collinsville; brothers, A.K. Moore of Brownwood, Marshall Moore of Bowie and Dean Moore of Bowie; grandchildren, Stacie Spurgin Miller and her husband, Kevin of San Diego, CA and Derek Stobaugh and his wife, Kim of Rosston; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Lee Miller, Eli Jacob Miller and William Mason Stobaugh. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, great-grandson, Noah Christopher Miller; brothers, Harry Moore, John Moore, Bill Moore, Richard Moore and Larry Joe Howard and sisters, Nellie Whitson Epps and Pauline Russell.

Memorials may be made to Cross Point Baptist Church or Special Olympics.
