July 10, 1927 –  December 27, 2005  COLLINSVILLE-Funeral services for H. M. â??Popâ? Carney, age 78, will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 30, 2005 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Collinsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 -8 P.M. Thursday, December 29, 2005 at the funeral home.
Mr. Carney passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman, Texas.

H.M. was born on July 10, 1927 to William Ray and Alice Joy (Dethloff) Carney in Collinsville, Texas. He married Dorothy Swindle on September 16, 1945 in DeQueen, Arkansas.

H.M. Spent most of his life in the Collinsville area and was a Welder and Rancher. He loved to garden, hunt and fish. He loved visiting with his friends and family, being at home and he enjoyed calling everyone â??Babeâ?.

H.M. is survived by his wife Dorothy Carney of Collinsville; a son, Clyde Carney of Collinsville; 3 daughters, Connie Vannoy, Karen Vannoy and Angie Russell and husband Tony all of Collinsville; 3 brothers, Billy Gene Carney of Pilot Point, Lavern Carney of Gordonville and Marshall Carney of Collinsville; 3 Sisters, Casey Vannoy of Collinsville, Linda Mitchell of Sherman and Laveda Reed of Cleburne; 8 Grandchildren, Bruce Vannoy, Barry Vannoy, Brent Vannoy, Hollie Elvington, Mikey Vannoy, Amanda Russell, Samantha Russell and Zach Russell; 4 Great-grandchildren, Madison, Abby and Makayla Vannoy and Devyn Elvington.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Mauzon Carney

Pallbearers are: Randall Coolman, Gerry Grigg, Johnny Lee Godsey, Curtis Fails, Roger Kerr, Jerry Varley and C.J. Carney.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Jerry Emrick, Larry Winkler and Steve Garrison.
