August 10, 1922 –  June 8, 2006  Whitesboro â?? Funeral Services for Gwendolyn â??Gwenâ? Ramsey, 83 will be 2 P.M. Sunday, June 11, 2006 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Harold Watson and Rev. Mike Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow at the New Resthaven Cemetery in Gainesville. A visitation was held from 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ramsey passed away Thursday, June 8, 2006 at Lifecare Hospital in Plano.

Gwen was born August 10, 1922 in Sunset, Texas to James Henry and Minnie Viola (Chamberlin) Russell. She married Gilbert Ramsey on June 8, 1951 in Nocona, Texas. She was an avid sports fan and particularly loved the Cowboys, Rangers and Mavericks.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Kennedy and husband Randy of Whitesboro and Jane Harris and husband Tom of Wylie; a brother, Gerald Russell of Nocona; 3 grandchildren, Chad and Eric Kennedy of Whitesboro and Jason Harris of Wylie; and a sister-in-law, Vieva Stephenson of Gainesville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Ramsey.

Pallbearers are Reggie Ramsey, Harold Tamplen, Ernie Phelps, Ricky Ramsey, John Schmidt and Jerry Patterson.
