October 26, 1921 – February 28, 2008 GRAND PRAIRIE รข?? Graveside Services for Grady Lee Thomas, 86, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2008 at Callisburg Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the funeral home.
Grady passed away Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Arlington Memorial Hospital of Arlington.
Grady Thomas was the son of Henry and Clara Thomas. He was born on October 26, 1921 in Cooke County. He was a World War II Veteran in the Army Air Corps. He worked in oil field exploration, both foreign and domestic. He also worked as a realtor for Jolly Realty in Grand Prairie. And most recently as a machinist for LTV.
Survivors include two nephews, Larry D. Howser and wife Barbara of Arlington, and Ronnie G. Howser and wife Mary of Gainesville, a niece, Glenda Pope of Midlothian, and other nieces and nephews related by adoption.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Velma Howser and Lola Bellotte and a brother Millard Thomas.
Uncle Grady was a accountant for independent oil driller after WWII in Texas, Oklahoma, and Israel. He was a foreman doing oil exploration in Malaysia. He raised cattle for a time and then worked for LTV in Grand Prairie. Lastly he was a realtor at Jolley Realty before finally retiring.
