December 2, 1942 –  January 15, 2012  Funeral services for Glenda Culpepper will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Meador Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Whitesboro. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at Meador Funeral Home. Mrs. Culpepper passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Medical Center of Plano.
Glenda was born on December 2, 1942 in Pilot Point, Texas to Ed and Dorothy (Duncan) Richardson. She married Steve Culpepper on August 29, 1959 in Whitesboro, Texas. He preceded her in death in 2006 after 47 years of marriage. She was a homemaker and community volunteer.
Glenda was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1965 where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and worked in the churchâ??s nursery for 45 years.
She was a charter member of the Contemporary Womenâ??s Club since 1971. She served on the Whitesboro Public Library Board for over 20 years. She was a member of the Whitesboro Area Chamber of Commerce where she volunteered for over 30 years. She served in several offices and was on the board of directors for well over 10 years. She was named a Lifetime Member of the Chamber, named a Director Emeritus, and had received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.
She opened her home to seven foreign exchange students and two local college students, whom she loved dearly. She became GG to not only her own two grandchildren, but to everyone who loved her. Glenda was a woman of hospitality and generosity, and always wore a smile. She was a woman of faith and had a true servantâ??s heart. She believed in her community and volunteered countless hours for it.
Glenda is survived by her daughter, Penny Renfroe and husband Rusty of Whitesboro; two grandchildren, Reagan and Jordan Renfroe of Tulsa; three sisters, Gail Cole and husband Joe of Whitesboro, Marcia Mordecai and husband John of Collinsville, Angie Lemons and husband Billy of Whitesboro; two brothers, Joe Richardson and wife Peggy of Sadler, and Marc Richardson and wife Judy of Afton, Oklahoma; and numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband Steve Culpepper, her son Dewayne Culpepper, and her parents Ed and Dorothy Richardson.
Pallbearers are her nephews Todd Cole, Chad Lemons, Kirk Lemons, Brent Mordecai, Bruce Plummer, Jason Richardson, Joe Richardson, and Tom Worsham.
