September 21, 1913 –  March 5, 2007  SADLER â?? Graveside services for Gladys Marie Melton, 93, will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Collinsville Cemetery, with Randy Mathis and Darden Fletcher officiating under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. There will not be a formal visitation.
She passed away Monday, March 5, 2007 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.

Gladys was born September 21, 1913 in Collinsville, Texas to Olie and Emma (Henson) Huffaker. She married Horace â??H.E.â? Melton on September 24, 1932 in Durant, Oklahoma. From this marriage, six children where born, Jerry Paul, Robbie Lynn, William Larry, Michael Edward, Ronald Evert and Chyrel Ann.

Gladys was a lifetime member of the North Union St. Church of Christ of Whitesboro where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also employed by the Whitesboro School system.

Gladys is survived by one daughter, Chyrel Ann Whittington and husband Edward of Whitesboro; one sister, Emogene Spivey of Euless; two daughter-in-laws, Alice Faye Melton of Sadler and Melba Melton of Collinsville; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Melton; four sons, Ronnie Melton, Jerry Paul Melton, Michael Melton and Larry Melton and a daughter, Robbie Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers are: Royce Melton, Jake Melton, Cody Melton and Cameron Fisher.
