July 1, 1916 –  January 21, 2010  WHITESBORO â?? Memorial Services for Gladys Marceille Acker, 93, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010 at the 1st United Methodist Church in Whitesboro with Rev. Jack Wallace officiating. A private graveside service will precede the memorial service at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Gladys passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.

She was born on July 1, 1916 in Poteau, Oklahoma to William H. and Myrtle Mae (Brackin) Kile. She married John Thomas â??J.Tâ? Acker on Nov. 21, 1936 in Whitesboro. Gladys worked for City Drug in Whitesboro for 16 years and was a longtime member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Whitesboro.

Survivors include: son, Johnny Acker and wife, Sharion of Whitesboro; daughter, Kathy Thomas and husband, Lynn of Whitesboro; son, Ricky Acker and wife, Sharon of Whitesboro; a sister, Leta Faye Morse of Luella; 4 grandchildren, John Acker of Austin, Jeremy Quatacker and wife, Christy of Woodbridge, Virginia, Kara Farmer and husband, James of Whitesboro, and Laura Whitfill and husband, Ben of Sherman; 3 great-grandchildren, Rachael and Rebekah Farmer of Whitesboro, and Stella Quatacker of Woodbridge, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Acker; a granddaughter, Jennifer Acker; and 2 brothers.
