April 10, 1930 –  February 15, 2017  Gilbert Eugene Mozingo passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at his residence in Gainesville at the age of eighty-six. He was born in Walnut Bend, Texas on April 10, 1930 to Charles Edward and Sylvia (Holder) Mozingo. Gilbert married Louise Garrett on October 9, 1947 in Gainesville, Texas. She preceded him in death in 1992. He had worked as an auto mechanic. Mr. Mozingo was a Christian man who loved his family and his many friends. He also loved animals.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 17th at Temple Baptist Church with Jamie Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16th at Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville.

Survivors include his children, Carolyn Baldwin of Gainesville, Gary Mozingo and wife, Christine of Lindsay, Sonjia Hutchinson of Gainesville and Mark Mozingo of Gun Barrell City; brother, David Mozingo of Gainesville; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and special friend, Janet Berryhill of Gainesville. In addition to his parents and wife, Gilbert was preceded in death by five siblings.
