July 11, 1923 –  April 17, 2012  COLLINSVILLE â?? Funeral Services for Lucy Faye Ragsdale, 88, will be held Friday, April 20, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas, with Ricky Patterson officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Collinsville Cemetery. Family visitation will be held Thursday, April 19, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.She passed away on April 17, 2012, in Marble Falls, Texas.
Faye Ragsdale was born on July 11, 1923, to Charles Jacob and Rebecca Arbelle (Gillum) Carney in Ethel, Texas. She married Herman Hugh Ragsdale on November 6, 1954, in Tioga, Texas. She was a graduate of Tioga High School. She was the owner of Ragsdale Grocery in Collinsville from 1954-1979. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the Eastern Star. She loved dancing, reading, and needlework and was a longtime worker in the Democratic Party. She participated in several dancing groups around Texoma and also volunteered for various community service outreach programs.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca â??Beckyâ? Brooks and husband, Myron Klingensmith, of Denver, CO; son, Charles Earnhart and wife, Sandy, of Sunrise Beach, TX; grandchildren: Kelley Brooks of Denver; Todd Earnhart and wife, Michelle of Houston; three great-grandchildren: Colton, Gage and Mekenna Earnhart of Houston; sisters, Flossie Culpepper and husband, Merzon, of Collinsville; Wanda Pearson of Whitesboro; Juanita Vannoy of Sadler; one brother, C. J. â??Sonnyâ? Carney of Collinsville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Rebecca Carney; her first husband, Nevel Earnhart; and husband Herman Hugh Ragsdale.
Pallbearers will be Bil Culpepper, Dale McGehee, Rick Vannoy, Frankie Jurecka, Chris Farr and Danny Carney.
