September 22, 1922 –  February 8, 2009  GORDONVILLE â?? Graveside Services for Ethelmae Lindsay Benson, 86, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009 at Gordonville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. No visitation will be held.
Ethelmae was born on Sept. 22, 1922 in Dallas, Texas to Thomas Leslie Lindsay and Ruby Lee Lindsay. She married Carl Henry Benson on June 16, 1939 in Dallas. Ethelmae worked for Red Ball Motor Freight in Dallas and also worked for President Lyndon Johnson. She loved spending time with her family, traveling in her motor home and being in the Red Hat Society.

Survivors include 2 sons, John Benson of Gordonville and Carl â??Tommyâ? Benson of Boynton Beach, Florida, a daughter, Lanna Self and husband Robert of Gilmer, a sister, Edithanne Warwick of Point, a brother, William Perry Lindsay of Whitesboro, 3 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, 3 great-grandchildren, a host of extended family, friends and her court of Red Hatters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Henry Benson, parents, Thomas Leslie Lindsay and Ruby Lee Lindsay and a sister, Alledalee Glavey.
