May 29, 1952 –  August 19, 2008  WHITESBORO- Elmer Lee Ramsey, 56, of Fredonia, NY (formerly of Sherman, TX and Whitesboro area) passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2008 after a brief illness. He was born in Mt. Shasta, CA, on May 29, 1952 a son of the late Elmer Lee and Virginia Ramsey.
Lee Ramsey was a graduate of Whitesboro High School, and had been employed for several years with Texas Instruments and Sherman Plastics. Lee was also an EMT and firefighter. He was a member of First Sherman Baptist Church, and was extremely devoted to his family.

He was preceded in death by both his parents and his eldest son, William Lee Ramsey (Little Bill).

He is survived by: his two big sisters, Sherry and Laura; three brothers, Cleve, Kerry, and David; his sons, Jeff, Josh/Amy; grandbabies, HayLee Jewel and Emma Nichole; his former wife, Marti; his partner, Kathy Paluch; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Lee also was able to donate life to several others through the CORE organ recovery center.

His favorite activities included: taking care of and protecting his family and friends, fishing, cooking, watching the Dallas Cowboy games, and showing his sons what it takes to be a wonderful father. He was always the backbone of the family, and the rock that shielded us from the dangers of life. We will always remember the Left Corner Patterns in the front yard, his wonderful brisket and homemade enchiladas that he loved to cook, and the ear to ear smile he had every time he saw his grandbabies. He was a wonderful brother and a friend to his siblings.

Services will be held Sunday, August 24, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, with Reverend Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Family night will be on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Meador Funeral Home beginning at 7:00 PM.
