June 3, 1918 –  January 19, 2017  Funeral Services for Electria “Annie” Scarbrough, 98, of Whitesboro, Texas will be held Sunday, January 22, 2017, 3:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. before the service. Ann passed away peacefully at Beacon Hill Nursing Home in Denison, Texas, Thursday, January 19, 2017.She was born to Ambrose F. and Mary Vernon (Brinkley) Coker on June 3, 1918 in Emory, Texas. She married J.J. “Jim” Scarbrough in Sherman, Texas in 1934. Jim preceded her in death on March 8, 1993. Annie was a long time dedicated member of First Baptist Church, Whitesboro. Annie had her favorite place to sit every Sunday and Wednesday in church, along with several friends who have entered Heaven to welcome Annie
home. Annie loved her home and enjoyed cooking and gardening. Annie worked on their farm with her husband, Jim and was able to operate any of the farm machinery. She could often be seen outside on her riding lawn mower mowing her yard to perfection. She was a very loving and kind person.
Annie is survived by Roberta Copeland Young of Florida who Annie and Jim helped raise until Roberta married. Annie was “mom” to Roberta; two sister-in-laws, Molly Coker of Longview and Madeline Coker of Nacogdoches; Burl and Mary Scarbrough, of Sandusky, JB and Beverly Scarbrough of Sadler and James and Pat Scarbrough of Abilene; nephews, Jerry Cox, Billy Cox, Jeff Cox and Jerry Don Cox; nieces, Lisa Coker, Brenda Coker and Jane Coker, and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Brad Scarbrough, Bart Scarbrough, Jason Scarbrough, Jerod Young, Jeff Young, Jeff Coker, Jerry Don Coker and James Scarbrough.
