September 17, 1933 –  March 3, 2015  Funeral Services for Edgar Eugene “Gene” Owen will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5th at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Duke Dowling officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home, Gainesville.
Gene Owen, 81, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Texoma Regional Medical Center. He was born to James Albert and Eula Belle (Brewer) Owen September 17, 1933 in Collinsville, Texas. Gene married Faye Marie Martin July 5, 1968 In Lake Dallas. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed by the City of Gainesville as a Sanitation Supervisor for over 20 years until retiring. Mr. Owen was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and fishing.

Survivors include wife, Faye Owen of Gainesville; children and their spouses, Pam and Jimmy Craft of Thackerville, OK, Patty and Johnny Harp of Ada, OK, Carol and Luke Nunn of Gainesville, TX, Marty and Pam Grissom of Gainesville, TX, Lisa and Gregg Burkhart of Gainesville, TX, Barbara and Larry White of Plano, TX, Brenda Evans of Braddington, FL and Steve Killgo of Plano, TX; sister, Nadine Roberts of Woodbine; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
