January 4, 1939 –  May 1, 2017  Doyle “Dan” Henderson, 78, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at his residence in Callisburg with his family by his side. He was born in Muenster, Texas on January 4, 1939, the son of Albert and Jo (Bicknell) Henderson. Dan married Peggy Hollandsworth December 16, 1961 in Callisburg. He proudly served in the US Navy and was a pumper in the oil industry. He was a faithful member of Custer City Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6th at Custer City Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Webb, Rev. Ronnie Conyers and Rev. Jimmy Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Callisburg Cemetery. Matt Stamm, Tyler Stamm, Brice Stamm, Cole Flanagan, Caden Flanagan and Nathan Byrom will serve as pallbearers. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home, Gainesville. No formal visitation is planned but the funeral home will be open until 8:00 p.m. Friday for family and friends to come by and sign the memorial book for Mr. Henderson.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Henderson of Callisburg; three daughters, Tammi Stamm and husband, Ron of Whitesboro, Dana Byrom and Otis Manuel of Callisburg and Kimberly Flanagan of Whitesboro; sister, Helen Watson of Denton; ten grandchildren, Matt, Tyler and Brice Stamm, Nathan and Katie Byrom, Miranda and Tyler Ford, Kalli Byrom, Cole, Mikala, Caden and Maycee Flanagan and three great-grandchildren, Lucas Stamm, Finleigh Stamm, Cora Byrom and expecting baby Ford in July. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Wanda Ford.
