Louise Foster, 92, of Whitesboro, passed away on April 23 , 2018, in her son’s home in Austin surrounded by loved ones.Born on February 19, 1926, to Thomas and Virgie Quinn in Terrell, Texas, Louise graduated from Terrell High School, and later studied art at Grayson County College in Denison. Louise married Gene Foster on June 1, 1946 in Kaufman, Texas. Later that year, Gene accepted a teaching position, and the couple made their home in Whitesboro where she lived until fall, 2015. The couple were active members of the First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro. Louise was also a long-time member of the Whitesboro Modern Arts Club.

An accomplished artist, Louise was known for her Texas landscapes and floral still-life paintings. She continued painting through her 70s.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; her parents, and two sisters, Naomi O’Quinn and Margaret Akagi. Surviving are her children, Thomas Gene Foster of Whitesboro, Karen Foster Black of Austin, and Mark Foster of Austin, as well as five grandchildren: Brady Black of Grapevine, Brodie Black of Austin, Jessica House of Pottsboro, Warren Foster of San Marcos, and Lucy Kinney of Winhall, Vermont and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have been made for a family graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the choir at the First United Methodist Church of Whitesboro.
