Dorothy Darlene Ludlam, 79, of Whitesboro, Texas was called home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 27, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

Dorothy was born on October 7, 1941 in Sadler, Texas to Emmot Cecil and Willie Opal (McKnight) Dobbs.  She was a member of Bones Chapel Baptist Church in Whitesboro.  She retired from Texas Instruments after 30 years of service.  Dorothy spent her time after retirement working at election polling sites and helping to deliver flowers for Petals in Whitesboro.  She was a fierce competitor and loved a good corn hole game, playing cards or playing Mario on the WII.  She was affectionately known as Granny Dot to most, but to some she was known as Nintendo Granny.  Dorothy loved to travel all over the United States, taking many trips with family and friends.  She was an amazing woman, full of love and compassion for so many people.  She loved her family tremendously and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were all her pride and joy in life.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindie Melton of Sanger; daughter, Sherry Hopkins and husband, Chris of Ector; son, Garry Ludlam and wife, Rhonda of Whitesboro; son, Larry Ludlam and wife, Donnette of Euless; fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Emmot and Opal Dobbs, son-in-law, Scott Melton and nine brothers and sisters.

Graveside services honoring Dorothy will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Collinsville Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Rick Carney.  A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.
