January 19, 1920 –  March 2, 2011  WHITESBORO – Funeral Services for Dorcas “Dot” Evans, 91, will be held Saturday, March 5, at 3:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Mike Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, Texas. No formal visitation has been planned. Dot passed away on March 2, 2011 in Gainesville, Texas.
She was born January 19, 1920 to William Reese and Ida Mae (Bridgefarmer) Tolleson in Grayson County, Texas. She married Bob Hicks on December 27, 1952. He preceded her in death December 2, 1981. She married Rube Evans on September 6, 1983. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2000. Dot had been a member of the Whitesboro community all her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro.
She is survived by her sister, Billie Wilburn, of Mississippi; numerous nieces and nephews; and friends and caregivers, Alice Trego, and Ben and Vickie Grounds.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, W. R. and Ida Tolleson; her brothers, Warren Tolleson and Byron Tolleson; her sisters, Claudell Crockett and Maurine Cunningham.
