August 25, 1936 –  October 6, 2017  WHITESBORO-Memorial service for Don Bertreaux, 81, will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 3:00 P.M., at Meador Funeral Home Chapel of Whitesboro, with Rev. Eddy Johnson officiating. Meador Funeral Home will be in charge of cremation arrangements. Don passed away on October 6, 2017 at Whitesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Don was born on August 25, 1936 in Tahoka, Texas to Grover Rudolph and Dora Alice (Allen) Bertreaux. He served in the United States Army and married Patricia Norman in 1961 in Lubbock, Texas. Don was a heavy equipment operator of Midland and Grayson Counties. He enjoyed fishing for catfish, drinking coffee and watching western movies.
Survivors are his wife, Patricia Bertreaux of Whitesboro; 2 sons, Donnie Bertreaux and wife, Dianna of Gordonville and Jackie Bertreaux of Bonham; 3 daughters, Sarah Alice Dunn and husband, Curtis of Bonham, Willa Houston and husband, Brad of Whitesboro and Debbie King and husband, Jeff of Gainesville; a sister, Edna Fay Owens of Fredrick, OK; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, brother, Doc Bertreaux and sister, Louise Marries.
