January 11, 1945 –  October 4, 2016  Valley View resident, David H. Pearce, Sr. died Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Denton Regional Hospital. He was born on January 11, 1945 in Dallas, Texas, the son of Joe C. and Mary Etta (Snow) Pearce. David married Brenda Sherrell September 21, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. He had been employed as a truck driver.
Funeral services for David Pearce are set for 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 7th at First Baptist Church Valley View with Rev. Glenn Kersey officiating. Grandsons, David Pearce, III, Waylon Pearce, Noah Smith, Joshua Smith, Clayton Pearce and Paul Pearce will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Valley View Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6th at Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Pearce of Valley View; children, David Pearce, Jr. of Thackerville, Debbie Smith and husband, David of Scurry, Van Pearce and wife, Brenda of Athens, Paul Pearce and wife, Melissa of Denton and Donna Adkins of Krum; sister, Judy Medina and husband Ricky of Valley View; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
