August 3, 1950 –  December 10, 2014  Gainesville resident, Curtis Edward Newberry (64) died Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in Decatur as the result of injuries from a car accident. He was born August 3, 1950 in Sanger, Texas to Laverne (Thomas) and David Newberry. Curtis had worked as a welder.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 19th at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Rev. Frank Lorne officiating. Interment will follow in Sanger Cemetery under the direction of Meador Funeral Home.

Survivors include one son, Trent Royal of Gainesville; sisters, Sharon Jones of Arlington, Marva Rambo of Denton and Carlas Ragland of DeSoto; brothers, James Newberry of Gainesville and Ricky Newberry of Gainesville and grandchildren Jacob and Taylor Royal. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, three children, two brothers and one sister.
