August 3, 1929 –  July 30, 2013  WHITESBORO- Funeral services for Curtis Clyde Bomar, 83, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 2, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Ken Hildebrand. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation will be at Meador Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M on Thursday, August 1, 2013.

Curtis passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Curtis Clyde Bomar was born on August 3, 1929 in Woodbine, Texas to J.D. and Ann Elizabeth (Temple) Bomar. Curtis married Evelyn Gaskin on January 21, 1949 in Gainesville, Texas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Whitesboro. Throughout the years Curtis also enjoyed coaching the Noon Optimist Club of Sherman Little League and he had just earned his 50 year membership pin as a member of the Whitesboro Masonic Lodge #263 AF & AM. He retired from IBM in 1991 after 34 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Bomar of Whitesboro; two sons, Terry Bomar and wife, Karen of Gordonville and Jerry Bomar and fiancée, Bertha Burns of Orange Grove; 4 grandchildren, Joni Jackson, J.C. Bomar, Rhett Bomar and Sarah McKinney; 8 great-grandchildren and a brother, Gene Bomar of Gainesville.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Ann Elizabeth Bomar and a son, Gary Bomar.

Pallbearers will be; J.C. Bomar, Jack Sanders, Bill Stofle, Channing Hickman, Leon Thornhill and Donny O’Dell.
