October 29, 1928 –  September 9, 2016  Memorial Services for Clyde Lavergne Carney, 87, of Gordonville, Texas, will be held Monday, September 12, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home, Whitesboro, Texas.He passed away into the arms of Jesus at the Homestead Nursing Home in Sherman, Texas, Friday, September 9, 2016. He was born to W. R. and Alice Dethlof Carney October 29, 1928 in Grayson County, Texas. He married Doris Jean Chambers on September 21, 1946, in Van Alstyne, Texas. He was a welder and worked at Gorbett Tank Company in Ft. Worth, Texas and then approximately 26 years at North Texas Manufacturing in Whitesboro, Texas. He loved his family and nothing pleased him more, than visits from them.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Carney of Gordonville; 3 children, David V. Carney of Gordonville, Texas, Debra J. Carney Wilson of Gordonville, and Judy A. Carney Pursur, and husband, David of Sanger, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer A. Carney Klohn, and husband, Steven, Billy Dan Wilson of Sanger, Cindy J. Wilson, and fiancé, Philip Sanders, Jessica M. Carney of Tioga and Logan Pursur of Sanger; 8 great-grandchildren, Allie Wilson, Jace Wilson of Tioga, Paige, Yancy and Morgen Klohn of Tioga and Baylee, Gage and Dylan Wilson of Sanger; sisters, Barbara Vannoy, and husband, Wallace of Collinsville; Marshall Carney of Collinsville, Billy Gene and Ann Carney of Pilot Point and Linda L. Mitchell of Sherman; sister-in-law, Dorothy Carney of Collinsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W.R. and Alice Carney; grandson, Rowdy Pursur; brother, H. M. Carney and sister, Loveda Carney Reed.
