January 7, 1932 –  March 2, 2017  Graveside Services for Chester Thomas Roberts, 85, of Collinsville, Texas will be held Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Collinsville Cemetery with Bob McKnight officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel, Whitesboro, Texas. Chester passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at his home in Collinsville with his family by his side. He was born to Thomas Chester Winfield and Lula Mae (James) Roberts on January 7, 1932 in Vernon, Texas. He married Charlece Dyer on August 30, 1952 in Dallas, Texas. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2017. Chester enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He loved horses, gardening, especially flower gardening and birdwatching. He was an entrepreneur, buying and selling surplus World War II engines for aircrafts.
Chester is survived by his son, Russell Roberts and wife, Shannon of Collinsville; daughter, Gina Orsburn and husband, Bob of Collinsville; 4 grandchildren, Craig Orsburn and wife, Jessica, Chet Roberts and wife, Misty, Whitney Josey and husband, Greg and Rachel Lorenz and husband, Chad; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Thompson and husband, T.L. of Wills Point and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lula Mae Roberts; son, Mark Roberts and his siblings, Dora Brumfield, Birdie Putman, Buddy Roberts, Jack Lundy, Nora Mouse, Ethridge Lundy, Dorothy Weems and Imogene Dick.
