December 19, 1932 –  January 28, 2012  GORDONVILLE â?? Charles Grady Satterfield, 79, of Gordonville, Texas, was called home by his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at the Texas Health Presbyterian â?? WNJ Hospital, Sherman, Texas. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Gordonville on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. Family visitation will be at the church at 1:15 p.m. prior to the service. Rev. Rusty Waller, pastor of First Baptist Church, Gordonville, Texas will officiate. Service arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas.Charles was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gordonville. He was born to Clarence and Florine (Jackson) Satterfield on December 19, 1932 in Westminster, SC, where he lived until moving to Texas in May 2004, making his home with his sister and her husband. He was employed by Oconee Mills (Beacon Mfg. Co.) in the 1950â??s in Westminster, SC.
Charles is survived by one sister, Anne Godwin and her husband, A. Z. Godwin, of Gordonville, TX; one nephew, Dr. Greg Godwin and wife, Jenni, and their children: Drew and Lainey of San Antonio, TX; and several cousins in South Carolina. He leaves a host of friends in Westminster, SC and in Gordonville,TX.
Preceding Charles in death were his parents and a one year old sister, Bobbie Satterfield; grandparents, uncles, and aunts.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Keith Hughes, Roy Holmes, Noble McElreath, Dean Dorothy, Bowden Tidwell, and Jim Crocker. Honorary pallbearers will be: Clarence Jones, Pinky Pinkston, Jim Herod, and Jim Burleson.
