March 31, 1933 –  February 23, 2017  Funeral Services for Charles Calvin “Pickle” Taylor, 83, of Whitesboro, Texas will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel, Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow at Collinsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Charles passed away Thursday, February 23rd at his home with his loving family by his side. Pickle was born to Emmitt and Lorena (Hooker) Taylor on March 31, 1933 in Collinsville, Texas. He married Brenda Jackson on March 7, 1984 in Gainesville, Texas. Charles served as Constable for 26 years and was a police officer in Sherman, Texas for many years. He served in the Marines, Army, and the Texas National Guard. He loved old cars and raising cattle. He loved to gamble. Charles, “Pickle” left an amazing legacy that will live on for generations to come. He loved his family and his children, having raised children since the age of 33, and always had at least one in the house. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Taylor of Whitesboro; sons, Scott Taylor and wife, Cristy of Whitesboro, and Daniel Taylor and wife, Theresa of Sherman; daughters, Rhonda Crosby and husband, Tommy of Whitesboro, Tiffany Taylor and husband, Jonathan of Whitesboro, Elizabeth Taylor of Sadler, Deanna Taylor of Sherman, Heather Pike of Whitesboro and Taylor Taylor of Whitesboro; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and lifelong friend, Troy Rogers of Brownsville, Texas. Family will serve as pallbearers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmitt and Lorena Taylor; sisters, Kathleen Kemp and Charlene Jones and brother, Franky Taylor.
