August 28, 1943 –  June 12, 2010  On Thursday morning, the Lord began calling Carl York home. In the early morning hours while sleeping, Carl suffered a stroke. Over the next few days, his family and friends were given the opportunity to visit and pay their last respects. On Saturday, June 12, 2010, surrounded by family, he went home to be with the Lord. He was born in Gainesville Texas on August 28th, 1943 to Helen and J.O. York. He worked for the City of Farmers Branch for over thirteen years.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Wanda York of Lewisville. He has two sons, Jeriel and Jason York of Childress and Lewisville respectively; two granddaughters, Vicktoria York and Candice York of Lewisville; several nieces and nephews and many, many beloved friends. Carl has three sisters, Glynda Gardner of Springfield, Missouri. Freda Sloan of Gainesville, Texas and Betty Dyer of Mulberry, Arkansas. Carl was preceded in death by his Mother, Father and three brothers.

Carl loved and was loved by many. He enjoyed life and made it a point to share a laugh with the people he loved, every day. In his life, he touched countless people. In his death, he continues to touch people as an Organ donor. His gift has already saved one life and will continue to change lives for years to come.

Funeral services for Carl York will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 17th at Clement-Keel Chapel with Rev. Alton Byrd of Liberty Baptist Church and Rev. Duke Dowling of Southside Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeriel York, Jason York, Danny Milam, Ryan Milam, J.J. Milam and Kevin Milam. Kevin Thurston will serve as an honorary bearer. Family Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 รข?? 7:00 p.m. at Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
