September 2, 1942 –  May 27, 2013  CARL WESLEY DUNCAN, JR., 70

Our hearts will always hold close the dear memory of Carl Wesley Duncan, Jr., who went to be with his Lord on May 27, 2013, after a courageous and fierce fight against lung cancer. Carl, Wes, Papa, Dad, and ?the hay man? . . . Carl Wesley Duncan, Jr., answered to each name lovingly given to him by his family and friends. His gentle, sweet spirit and warm smile endeared him to all who knew him. Wes was a friend to all and a stranger to none. He was a Baptist, loved God very much, and shared Him with others.

Wes was born September 2, 1942 in Harvey Parish, New Orleans, Louisiana, to Carl W. Duncan and Kewpie Duncan. He married his true love, Judy Johnson, on January 18, 1969. Judy and Wes built their retirement home together in Whitesboro, Texas, where they have lived for 19 years. His grandparents were Jim and Ollie Duncan and Grand and Lara Taylor.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy Johnson Duncan; his sister, Lena Brookshire, and her husband, Delbert, of Democrat, TX; his daughter, Lisa Duncan-Fontaine, her husband, Steve, and their two sons, Jacob and Alex Fontaine of Flower Mound, TX; his son, Carl W. ?Trey? Duncan III, his wife, Sara, and their two children, Bella Rue and Cade Wesley Duncan of Aubrey, TX; and his son, Derek Duncan, of Flower Mound, TX. Wes adored his wife, three children, his son-in-law and daughter-in-law, and his four grandchildren. His great joy was to attend his grandchildren?s activities and always let them know how he loved them and how proud he was of each of them.

Wes graduated from Aspermont High School, in Aspermont, Texas, in 1961. He played four sports in high school, making all-state in football and basketball. Wes attended Hardin-Simmons University, and West Texas State University. He retired from the military service with 25 years in the U.S. Army and Texas National Guard with the 4th Armored Division Germany and the 49th Army division ? Texas Army National Guard. After retirement, he enjoyed raising cattle and running his haying business. He was a 32 degree Mason.
