October 13, 1926 –  May 24, 2007  WHITESBORO- Funeral Services for Boyd Ray Sexton, 80, will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 27, 2007 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Houston Garner. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 P.M. Saturday, May 26, 2007 at the funeral home.
Mr. Sexton passed away Thursday, May 24, 2007 at his residence in Whitesboro.

Boyd was born on October 13, 1926 in Denison, Texas to Huley Green and Alma Jewel (Moore) Sexton. He married Gladys Marie Mayo on July 4, 1948 in Denison, Texas. He was a longtime groceryman and butcher. Over his lifetime he owned Boydâ??s grocery in Denison, managed Handy Food Mart in Whitesboro and worked for many other grocery stores in the area. He loved researching his genealogy, fishing, traveling, his dog Lucy and especially his family. He was involved with Nortex Good Sams, serving as past president and he was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Bells, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Sexton of Whitesboro; two daughters, Carolyn Flowers and husband Roy of Southmayd and Donna Dolezalek and husband Sammy of Sadler; two sisters, Ruby Viola Petty of Denison and Stella Kirkpatrick of Denison; a brother, Bobby Joe Sexton of Denison; four grandchildren, Brian Flowers and wife Amy of Allen, Alicia Flowers of Southmayd, Louis Dolezalek and wife Kerry of Sadler and Christy Morris and husband Jamey of Aubrey and seven great-grandchildren;

He was preceded in death by his parents, Huley and Alma Sexton and a sister, Eva Lee Sexton.

Pallbearers are: Roy Pylant, Lee Francis, Bill Stone, Clarence Davis, Bob Garvin, Gary Monroe, Phil Ferguson and Richard Harris.
