June 4, 1932 –  October 23, 2017  WHITESBORO – Graveside services for Billy Joe Howard, Sr., 85, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017 at Macomb Cemetery with Rev. Sid Hunter officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017 at the funeral home.Billy passed away on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017 at his residence.
He was born on June 4, 1932 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to John Roy Howard and Viola (Miller) Howard. He married Emma “Cricket” Stewart on June 24, 1954 in Marietta, Oklahoma. Billy worked in construction and enjoyed woodworking, repairing small engines, raising rabbits, fishing, playing dominoes and visiting with his neighbors. He dearly loved his family and was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Whitesboro.
Survivors include his wife, Cricket Howard of Whitesboro; children, Donald Ray Miller and wife, Jean of Valley View, Melba Joe Jahn and husband, Frank of Whitesboro, Peggy Joyce Howard of Whitesboro, Kenneth Howard and wife, Leanna of Whitesboro, Erma Laster of Whitesboro, Dovie Land of Whitesboro and Billy Joe Howard, Jr. and fiancée, Stefanie Gannon of Sadler; 21 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Viola Howard; 6 brothers; a son, Tommy Lynn Howard and a grandson, Joe Ray Brown.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Brown, Eric Johnston, Chris Laster, William Laster, Joshua Land, Stephen Howard and Sam Stanford. http://videos.lifetributes.com/842646
